New Balance North Shore is an independently owned and operated retail store located in Highland Park, Illinois. We conduct business at our store and through our web site under a special licensing agreement with New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc.

Privacy Policy

Information provided to us from customers via our order form is used exclusively for filling customers' orders, preparing invoice statements, and shipping merchandise to customers' destinations. We do not sell, share or rent any of our customers' data or information to any outside parties. The information you provide to us through our web site stays within the confines of this single business entity.

To keep you informed about new merchandise and offers that may be of interest to you, we may periodically notify you by email. If you wish to be removed from our customer mailing list, please take one of the following steps:

1. Reply to the email received from New Balance North Shore and type "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject field.

2. Contact us and request to be removed from our mailing list.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our site so our users are always aware of what information we collect and how we might use it.

Availability Disclaimer

Sizes & Widths in Stock
While we strive to keep a full inventory of sizes and widths in stock for most styles, we cannot guarantee that every size will be in stock at the time of your order. As with any retail store, our inventory levels change on a daily basis and this may result in temporary outages of certain styles and/or sizes.

With in-line styles (those still in production), we can usually replenish our stock within one week. However, styles that are designated "clearance" are those that have been discontinued by the factory, and therefore cannot be reordered. As these discontinued styles sell down, the availability of sizes/widths can be expected to become increasingly limited.

The sizes and widths displayed in our online catalog represent the full range of sizes and widths that each particular style is manufactured in. This information is displayed to assist customers in ordering valid sizes and widths; it is not meant to represent the actual inventory in stock at our store.

Responding to Your Order
If all items on your order are in stock, your order will be processed and shipped within one business day and you will receive a personalized email confirmation from our staff.

If any items are out of stock, we will inform you via email of the situation and let you know your options in terms of later delivery or alternate styles. We will ask whether you would like to proceed with your order or make changes to your order. No substitutions of items will be made without your prior consent.

No charges will be made to your credit card until the merchandise you want has been shipped out. If we are out of stock of your requested item and you choose to cancel your order, no charges will apply and your order information will be destroyed.

Security Policy

This website uses the latest encryption technology to fully protect our users' information throughout the entire ordering process. Order data is transferred securely from the instant the order is submitted to the time the order is processed in our store.

When orders are placed by customers, a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is employed to ensure a safe route for transmission of data to the Web Server and our store. In addition, the sensitive order data is scrambled through an enhanced 128-bit encryption algorithm selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as the new Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) for encryption (FIPS 197). This ensures sensitive customer information is protected and inaccessible until it arrives at our store for processing. Once orders are decrypted and retrieved for processing by our staff, all sensitive order information is deleted from our system.

Return Policy

Your complete satisfaction is our objective. When you receive your new shoes, we suggest that you try them on indoors and test them for proper fit and comfort. If necessary, wear them around the house for several days until you are sure that they are correct for you. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please follow the guidelines below for processing a return.

Within 30 days of purchase, merchandise in new condition may be returned for exchange or refund.

Exchanges
A simple-to-use return card is included with your order packaging. If you do not have this card, include a copy of your original receipt and a note telling us what you would like to exchange the item for. Specify the new model number, size and width that you would like to receive. Exchanges will be made on an even-exchange basis.... you are responsible for shipping the original item to us, and we will pay for shipping out the new merchandise at no charge to you. If you are requesting a higher-priced item for exchange, please include your credit card number to authorize your payment of the price difference.

Refunds
Fill out the enclosed Return Card to ensure proper handling of your refund. If you don't have this card, include a copy of your original receipt along with a message explaining the reason for the return. The refunded amount will be credited to the same charge account used for the original purchase. Please include your credit card account number on your return note because we do not save such data in our files for security reasons. The amount of the credit will be the price of the merchandise, not including shipping costs.

Worn shoes may only be returned if there is a problem due to a manufacturing defect. If you believe your shoes are defective in some way, please call us first and we will advise you on the next steps to take.

Only shoes purchased directly from us at New Balance North Shore may be returned to our location. If you are having a problem with shoes purchased from another dealer, please contact that dealer or call New Balance Customer Service at 1-800-622-1218.
